New entry and exit signs for Newcomerstown Public Library were constructed from welded steel armatures and finished with sculpted concrete. The entrance sign is set on a 36-in.-deep x 18-in.-wide Sonotube footing with a 3 x 3-in. steel tube and cage-mounted into the footer. The upper sign slides into a fabricated fitting and is held in place by two ¾-in. bolts. We also carved various components such as the book spines from 30-lb. Coastal Enterprises Precision Board. Our goal in finishing was to make all of the books look with weathered, leather-bound books.
