Gemini (Cannon Falls, MN) announced the acquisition of Identification Plates Inc. (Mesquite, TX), known for providing sheet metal stock and custom blanks to the awards and recognition industry as well as OEM nameplates and promotional products. The partnership between brings together two, family-owned businesses.

“The partnership between Gemini and Identification Plates will allow us to leverage similar cultures of taking care of our customers and our people,” Gemini President Fred Oss said. “Identification Plates will operate much the same as they have with operations and 100% of the workforce in place at the current facility in Mesquite, TX.”

Oss said the most visible change will be the larger product offering from both companies as Gemini adds nameplates and plaques by Identification Plates, and in turn, Identification Plates gains access to Gemini’s Duets plastic products. Identification Plates will continue to operate at the current facility. Each company will concentrate on its core business while taking advantage of efficiencies and shared product offerings.

“We are excited to be working with Gemini as the two companies share core values and serve similar markets,” said Doug Crownover, owner of Identification Plates. “The transition has gone smoothly, and our customers will be well served as they continue to work with the same great sales and customer service staff they are familiar with. I firmly believe that as I enter retirement, Identification Plates, our people, and our customers are in great hands with Gemini.”
