ORAFOL Americas Receives 2018 Environmental Impact Award
Partnership with Pratt Industries resulted in greatly increased sustainability practices.
ORAFOL Americas Inc. (Black Creek, GA) recently announced the company received an Environmental Impact Award for 2018. The award recognizes businesses implementing environmentally friendly practices in their day to day operations. In 2018, ORAFOL’s use of packaging made from Pratt Industries’ 100% recycled paper drastically reduced Orafol s carbon footprint, which resulted in the following:
- 2,481,300 gallons of water saved
- 9,374 trees saved
- 551 tons of co2 prevented
- 1,709.340 kilowatt hours of power saved
- 1,158 cubic yards diverted from landfill
A carbon footprint is described as the total greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions caused directly and indirectly by an individual, organization, event or product. According to a statement from Orafol, Pratt Industries has been America’s leading recycled paper and packaging company for over 25 years – dedicated to the sustainability of our planet, their customers and global community, and is recognized around the world for their environmental stewardship.
In 2018, Orafol shipped over 1.5 million products using recycled boxes. “We at Orafol, are proud to know when purchasing from Pratt; we are playing a pivotal role in minimizing waste and protecting the environment,” said Derek Collins, planning and purchasing agent.
