The 2020 Sign Invitational Goes Virtual

Following the cancellation of the International Sign Association’s 2020 Sign Expo, Signs of the Times and the co-organizers of the Sign Invitational – Jim Dawson of Synergy Sign & Graphics (Strasburg, OH) and Dan Sawatzky of Imagination Corp. (Chilliwack, BC, Canada) – have decided to move the 2020 Sign Invitational to a virtual, online format.

The original plan was for Sign Expo attendees visiting ST Media Group/Signs of the Times’ booth to vote for the winner of the creative signmaking competition, with the winner announced at the conclusion of the second day of the Expo. Sign Invitational entrants would have been on-hand to describe and discuss their projects with interested attendees.

In the near future, Signs of the Times will release a ‘2020 Virtual Sign Invitational’ homepage that will display photos of each entry, a video interview with each entrant describing their entry, and an easy-to-use online voting portal for users to select a winner. There will be a multi-week window to view all of the entries and vote for a favorite.

The theme of the fifth-annual Sign Invitational is “less is more,” and each entry can fit on a 2 x 2-ft. display table. Stay tuned to signsofthetimes.com for the opening of the voting window.

Thank you to our Sign Invitational sponsors: AXYZ Automation Group; GE Current, a Daintree company; the International Sign Association; JDS Sign Supply; and SA International (SAi).
