3A Composites (Statesville, NC) is unveiling KAPA®tech, a “hybrid”, graphic-display board that, according to the company, combines foamboard characteristics with aluminum-composite-material durability. The substrate comprises two, painted sheets of 0.008-in.-thick aluminum that’s bonded to a polyurethane core. Its dense, foam core reportedly offers greater than strength than polystyrene-foam board, and it may be decorated with solvent-based paints unsuitable for use with polystyrene.
3A Composites offers KAPAtech for POP, retail-sign, tradeshow-booth and exhibit-graphic applications, as well as outdoor décor and signage. The board may be fabricated with woodworking and metal-fabrication equipment, as well as CNC-routed and flatbed-printed. The company stocks KAPAtech in 49.21 x 98.43-in., 3/16- or 3/8-in.-thick panels white foam and aluminum facers.
