3M Partners with Knifeless Tech on Knifeless Tape

Material eliminates need for a blade

Published

3M Commercial Graphics (St. Paul, MN) and Knifeless Tech Systems have entered into an exclusive partnership to provide Knifeless Tape, which allows installers to cut graphic films straight or curvey, without a blade.  The tape’s key ingredient is a high-strength filament embedded in the center of the tape.

The tape is applied to the vehicle body wherever cuts will be needed, prior to applying the graphic film. After the film is applied, the installer simply pulls the filament in the tape, to produce a fast, sharp cut. To finish, installers simply re-squeegee the edges. The flexible tape turns smoothly in any direction, and conforms to tight contours and edges, the company states.
