A Dutiful RV

The oath administered to all Boy Scouts reads: “On my honor, I will do my best to do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law; to help other people at all times; and, to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake and morally straight.” According to www.usscouts.org, the oath distills into three duties: duty to God and country, duty to others, and duty to self.

When a venerated organization such as the Boy Scouts of America (BSA), which operates with a high sense of purpose, celebrates it 100th anniversary in 2010, it merits ample publicity. Bluemedia (Tempe, AZ) answered the call. A friend of the shop’s installation manager, Tug Orr, mentioned the Scouts’ desire to tour the country with an RV wrap. He passed the contact on to R.J. Orr, Tug’s brother and bluemedia’s sales VP, who shared the shop’s portfolio with BSA executives and was subsequently awarded the job.

Chris Keal and the bluemedia design team crafted the graphics using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator CS4. Before submitting the final print files, the contracted installer, Graphik Concepts Inc. (Farmington Hills, MI), surveyed the RV and closely checked the measurements to ensure the template translated into a successful wrap. Bluemedia produced the wrap on its HP TurboJet printer on 3M’s Controltac IJ180C-10 film with Comply air-release technology, and protected the wrap with 3M’s 8519 luster-finish overlaminate.
