Thanks in large part to a federal community-development block grant, Accuform Signs (Brooksville, FL), a manufacturer of safety signage and related equipment, is planning to nearly double its workforce over the next three years.

The Hernando County Commission accepted the $1.5 million grant, and plans to build roads and enhance water and sewer services at the Tampa Bay Regional Airport and Technology Center, where Accuform is the largest employer. The investment will help the company’s facilities expand to 300,000 sq. ft., and, according to the Tampa Bay Times, grow its workforce from 280 to approximately 550 by 2016.
