American Sign Museum receives 1920s-era opal glass letter sign for free.

The latest addition to the American Sign Museum (Cincinnati) is a 1920s-era opal glass letter sign with a copper cabinet from New Rochelle, NY. Veteran sign dealer Darryl Tilden from roadrelics.com presented the sign to the museum at no cost, simply wanting the satisfaction of knowing it was “going to a good place,” according to American Sign Museum founder Tod Swormstedt. “The sign was offered to Tilden, and he could have purchased it and sold it to the museum at a profit, knowing the sign would definitely be of interest,” Swormstedt said.
