The World Sign Associates (WSA, Denver) has announced the winners of the 2020 WSA Coolness Sign Design Competition, which concluded during the association’s virtual Annual Meeting earlier this month. WSA sign company members and endorsed vendors voted on the most innovative electrical signs produced during the past 12 months. The winning entries are in four categories: Freestanding Sign – Greater than 100 Square Feet, Freestanding Sign – Less than 100 Square Feet, Wall Sign and Potpourri. There is also a Best in Show recipient.

Best in Show/Freestanding Sign – Greater than 100 Square Feet: Deputy Zack Parrish III Memorial Park
BSC Signs and BSC Custom, located in Broomfield, CO, fabricated and installed a memorial for deputy Zack S. Parrish III, a Douglas County (CO) Sheriff’s Deputy and former Castle Rock Police Officer, who lost his life in the line of duty on December 31, 2017. This memorial also honors the Castle Rock Police Department and Douglas County Sheriff s Department.

Freestanding Sign – Less than 100 Square Feet: Infiltrator Water Technologies
Created by Ruggles Sign, this design reflects the client’s brand and is front and center to their facility in Winchester, KY. This 9 x 9-ft. illuminated cabinet sign is composed of brushed stainless steel mounting poles and cross members, escutcheon plates and fasteners. It has hidden primary power, fasteners and LEDs, as well as edge-lit acrylic panels with flamed edges.

Wall Sign: Allegiant Stadium – Home of the Las Vegas Raiders
YESCO was contracted to do a significant amount of work at the new Allegiant Stadium, which was completed on July 31, 2020. The rooftop letters reading “Allegiant Stadium” are 51 ft. in height and span 564 ft. in length. They are believed to be the largest illuminated letters in Las Vegas (for now). In addition to the rooftop letters, a total of six sets of large illuminated letters were installed at the stadium; four sets outside and two inside.

Potpourri: Main Street Eye Care
Sekula Signs designed and manufactured a pair of 12 x 4-ft. one-piece aluminum eye glasses for Main Street Eye Care in DuBois, PA. Each hinge was even set with a flat head screw. The lens glow with RGB LED illumination, to look like a pair of glasses that someone would actually wear.
