City of Dreams

Element Labs fabricated this titanic message center, which spans 147 ft. tall with a 2,691-sq.-ft. message board, for the City of Dreams, Macau’s recently completed, $2.1 billion resort and casino. Lawrence Ho and James Packer, Melco Crown co-chairmen, required visibility for the entertainment mecca, which is in the Cotai district, away from the peninsula’s downtown area. Suffice it to say, Element Labs delivered. According to Element Labs’ John Ellenich, the company completed the project, which also includes a second display within the resort, in less than four months.

The Windcreek Casino, a $130 million facility in Atmore, AL, with more than 200 guest rooms and 1,600 electronic-gaming machines, serves as a prime example of the attractiveness of the Southeast’s increasingly competitive casino market. The monumental message center, which towers into the Alabama sky at 62 ft. 6 in. tall, features a 16mm Hybrid LED display from Optec Displays. The 23-ft.-tall x 18-ft.-wide display provides a pixel resolution of 424mm tall x 344mm wide. .

Casino Arizona – 101 & McKellips

Not surprisingly, attractive casino message centers have registered a clean sweep of the category. This 75-ft.-tall, double-faced pylon features a structural-steel frame that’s skinned with aluminum. YESCO lit the single-faced upper graphic feature with Voltarc white neon and sheathed it with Acrylite acrylic. Below this, YESCO incorporated its own 20mm, 232 x 464-pixel matrix, electronic messageboard. All copy comprises internally illuminated, pan-face channel letters with similar components to the upper graphic’s illuminated elements. The lower, horizontal mullions mimic the casino’s architectural features.
