Designed to encapsulate the stark, fierce environs of a Mad Max movie, this wrap’s design incorporates a metallic milieu of rust, metal, diamondplate and rivets. Absolute Perfection produced the graphics with 3M Controltac IJ180-10C media that’s applied on an HP L360 latex-ink printer. To enhance the wrap’s rugged patina, the shop coated it with 3M Scotchcal 8520 matte-finish overlaminate, which was applied on a Seal 54 laminator. Chris Fong, Absolute Perfection’s president, said, “What made this design and installation unique was having the bands of rivets outline the vehicle’s body lines. We accomplished this by overlaying layers of vinyl.”

A two-tone black Porsche is an undisputed road ruler. Drop the convertible top and crank up some AC/DC! Creative Color fomented road rage with 3M 1080 matte-black wrap film as the base layer, with a Martini Racing striped graphic applied on 3M 1080 satin-finish black as an overlay to create subtly cool contrast. The overlay was decorated on an HP DesignJet L28500 latex-ink printer.

This command center on wheels leaves the impression that launch codes to the U.S. missile-defense system might be accessible inside. Mack had the vehicle custom-built, with a one-of-a-kind wrap to match. According to Fong, its design was inspired by carbon-fiber patterns, distressed-metal patina finishes and “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” an ABC TV series derived from a Marvel Comics concept. Hexagonal patterns dominate the main body, fenders and doors, and rivet bands create 3-D accents. Approximately 15 panels were printed for every side – each was installedseparately – with additional strips of rivet graphics applied. Unwrapped areas were bedecked with a powder-coated finish that imitates the design’s colors. The graphics were produced with 3M Controltac media that’s printed on an HP L360 latex-ink printer. Instal-lation required more than a week and abundant Geek Wraps felt squeegees.
