Canon U.S.A., Inc. (Melville, NY) is announcing its 8 x 10-ft., Océ Arizona 6100 Series flatbed printer that’s optimized for high-speed production of rigid media. Comprised of the six-color, Océ Arizona 6160 XTS and the seven-color, Océ Arizona 6170 XTS devices, the 6100 series is designed for sign and display printmakers who, the company says, print approximately 325,000 sq. ft. of rigid media annually. The machine, which features Océ’s VariaDot™ printing technology. is equipped with approximately 27,000 piezoelectric nozzles in a seven-row printing carriage. It images at speeds up to 1,668 sq. ft./hr. and supports such applications as multi-layer, double-sided, edge-to-edge and tiled printing on numerous rigid media — heavy, smooth, pre-cut or odd-shaped.
For simultaneous, non-stop printing and fast media loading/unloading, you can switch the flatbed table from one, 8 x 10-ft.-print zone to two, independent print zones with corresponding vacuum zones and pneumatic-pin registration. The 6100 series also features an automated printhead maintenance system, and a white-ink option is available.
