Chief Mfg. (Minneapolis), which offers projector, monitor and flat-panel-TV mounting solutions, as well as online tools, is announcing the next phase of its Mountbuilder online mount configurator tool. In addition to building configurations for projector and flat-panel, ceiling-mounted applications, users can now build configurations for flat-panel wall applications. Several enhancements to Mountbuilder’s user interface are also included with the launch. Mountbuilder simplifies selecting and specifying mounts. The tool walks the user through a sequence of steps for building a mount configuration. As the user selects from a menu of the company’s products and accessories, the configuration is pictured on screen. The application also builds a parts list that can be saved for proposals or future jobs; and auto-calculates weight capacities, drop distances and distance from the wall.

Also, the tool allows users to zoom in and out of the configuration; edit parts lists at any time; highlight individual parts by rolling over the interactive parts list and switch from ceiling to wall configuration modules.

The new module for flat-panel wall applications joins two existing ones for projectors and ceiling-mounted applications.
