CoSign’s Third Edition Beautifies Covington, KY

Grants subsidize new signage for small businesses

During the past two years, CoSign has spearheaded two installations of signs that identify unique, independent business throughout Northside, a trendy neighborhood north of Cincinnati. This year, CoSign and the American Sign Museum collaborated to direct the installation of signage at nine businesses in Covington, KY. According to CoSign Project Manager Erica Bolenbaugh, the signs would’ve cost the businesses between $10,000 and $12,500, but they were paid for grants from ArtPlace America, the Carol Ann and Ralph V. Haile/U.S. Bank Foundation and the National Endowment for the Arts.

Covington, whose Mainstrasse Village is one of the top entertainment destinations in Northern Kentucky, already enjoys many distinctive signs. Thanks to the CoSign program, its business community will enjoy an even stronger identity. Thanks for the Queen City Project for providing the photos.
