Rise Vision (Wichita, KS), a digital signage software developer, has been acquired by AUO Display Plus, a division of Taiwanese manufacturer AU Optronics.

According to a securities filing, the deal is valued at about $29.25 million and was initially reached in late April. In a letter to clients, Rise Vision said no significant changes will be made to its operations.

The Sixteen:Nine digital signage blog calls the transaction a “good deal for the founders and principals at Rise, who have been at this for a very long time and were early innovators in areas such as cloud, Google integration and totally dispersed, virtual workforces.”

It also surmised that Rise Vision was an attractive target due to its “deep user base in education,” a market of importance for AUO Display Plus.
