Roland DGA Corp. (Irvine, CA) is introducing Soljet Pro III eco-solvent inkjet printers in 74- 64- and 54-in. models.

The XJ printers, the company’s fastest solvent printers, comprise a six-color, CMYKLcLm system and, reportedly, produce a 1,440 x 1,400-dpi image quality. The 74-in. model reaches a 458-sq.-ft.-per-hour maximum speed. The XJ series, powered by Roland’s VersaWorks RIP software, supports such applications as durable, outdoor signage, graphics and precision fine-art posters and giclees. A built-in, tri-heater system provides maximum brightness and speed. An automated take-up system and a heavy-duty, media-handling system support roll weights of up to 103 lbs. for the XJ-740, 88 lbs. for the XJ-640 and 66 lbs. for the XJ-540. New media flanges, pinch rollers, grit rollers and a belt drive come standard.
