A recent trucking study reported that more than 40% of American over-the-road trailers have no graphic identification. The president of a large fleet-graphics provider estimates that another 40% are poorly marked with minimal graphics. If you doubt these statistics, conduct your own survey on your next roadtrip.

To an extent, tough economic times have relegated many graphics programs to the back burner. However, some vehicles represent difficult applications signmakers simply bypass. Labor costs can also make programs prohibitive.

Many signmakers avoid vehicles with rivets or corrugations like the plague. Regarding vehicle wraps, many say, "Forget it!" However, embossed-adhesive vinyl films could alleviate such fears and open up new fleet-graphics opportunities.
