Epson America (Long Beach, CA) is introducing its all new EPSON® SureColor® S50670 and S70670 printers for the signage, vehicle graphics and fine-art market that incorporate Epson’s latest technologies and its dual-array, MicroPiezo® TFP® printheads. The new printers boost Epson’s S30670 printer line and add automate nozzle checks, media feed and tensioning adjustments and media and print head alignments. Both printers comprise two, 1-in.-wide, high-performance MicroPiezo TFP Printheads (360 nozzles per-channel) that process up to ten ink channels; the heads also feature low-vibration meniscus control for accurate dot shaping and placement and ink-repellant coating to reduce nozzle clogging.
The SureColor S50670 features Epson’s UltraChrome® GS2 four color inks and a new, high-density white ink; the SureColor S70670 features Epson’s UltraChrome GSX inks and delivers up to ten colors that include a standard light-black ink for improved grayscale and reduced metamerism, plus optional white and silver metallic inks. Epson’s UltraChrome GS2 and UltraChrome GSX inks operate sans special ventilation or air purification systems; a high capacity, 700 ml ink-cartridge system assists long production runs.
Individual, pre, platen and post heaters operate via the control panel or the RIP software; an additional, high-speed dryer is standard on the SureColor S50670 and optional on the S30670 and S70670.
The S-series’ package includes Onyx’s standard-layout RIP that features the full Pantone® color library comprises 100 profiles for stock 3M, Avery, Epson, Ultraflex, and Neschen media.
A motorized take-in, unattended-production take-up reel system (wind-in or wind-out) will process standard rolls (up to 90 lbs.); an optional high-capacity system supports rolls up to 150 lbs. Epson’s manual LiftAssist device eases loading and unloading of roll media.
