Gerber Scientific Products (South Windsor, CT) has released its Gerber OMEGA™ 4.0 software upgrade that includes the Omega 3.0 suite capabilities, as well as a Gerber Edge FX HiRez printing mode and firmware update. The upgrade also features faster rendering of autotext, autonumber and other composer-generated repeats.
Other tools are automatic, EDGE® printing halftone settings; improved backcut and liner-cut decal production; Foil Adjust program improvements; Weedborder grid and butt-cut modes; ART Path™ automatic nesting; Smart Start technology plotter output; and added friction-fed plotter support.
The upgrade also includes Chinese text entry; improved barcode layout; increased undo’s (including after saving); an auto Strokes For Chokes button; choke/spread top-color designation; automatic imported EPS/PDF mapping; AI colors to Edge spot colors; and the ability to add a PDF wrapper to JPG exports; and more.
