Golf Channel Headquarters Enjoys Swinging Sign System

System effectively implements brand

Published

on

Joseph Gibbs must know that no sign-industry event in history hasn’t included a golf tournament (except in deep winter or due to inclement weather). Gibbs launched the Golf Channel in 1995, and, naturally, its headquarters reside in one of the world’s golf capitals, Orlando. Creative Sign Designs (Tampa) executed true design/build for this comprehensive renovation both inside and out. The 3-D logo not only decorates the building, but also the top of several 40-ft. towers. A custom monument sign and fully branded directional signs identify the exterior and demonstrate the fabrication capabilities of MultiCam and Camtech CNC routers, a Cincinnati shear and Miller Weldmaster MIG welders.

The completely new interior sign system also incorporates 3D logo displays and custom-branded work-station sign plaques. All of this required extensive design software: CorelDraw! X5, FlexiSign 8.5, AutoCAD 2007 and Adobe Illustrator.

When The Golf Channel was first launched, it was the first full digital production facility in the U.S. It’s part of the Comcast-NBC Universal Programming Group, which also includes E! Entertainment Television, Style Network, VERSUS, G4, PBS Kids Sprout, TV One and 10 Comcast SportsNet networks.
