Happy Cinco de Mayo!

Enjoy this gallery of Mexican signage

Many gringos think of Cinco de Mayo as an excuse to drink to excess. However, to Mexicans, it’s a day to honor the country’s victory over the French at the Battle of Puebla during the Franco-Mexican War. I’ve not had the pleasure of travelling to Mexico for nearly 20 years, but the pride and dignity of almost every person I met during my visit there stuck with me. With the exception of the somewhat incongurous half-man/half-leopard mural, I’ve attempted to celebrate Mexican design sensibiliies with this gallery. Enjoy Cinco de Mayo — responsibly!
