Brewpubs usually connote a certain rustic, serene image – a comfortable place where one can evade life’s stressors and relax with a frothy lager or porter. Wood & Wood Sign Systems (Waitsfield, VT) built this 4 ft. x 6 ft. 6 in. sign using ¾-in.-thick MDO for the background, which fabricators painted with a mix of Benjamin Moore latex paints to create an alpine scene. To encircle the piece, Wood & Wood fashioned a 1½-in.-thick ring from 18-lb. Sign*Foam® HDU with cut-vinyl graphics.

The spigot and mug comprise 2-in.-thick, handcarved, 18-lb. Sign*Foam; the sprigs of barley and hops were similarly constructed from 1-in.-thick material and secured to painted, waterjet-cut aluminum. Fabricators cut the flowing ribbon from Dibond® composite material and coated with autumn-orange latex paint. Wood & Wood fashioned “Brewing Company” from ¼-in.-thick, cut-out acrylic, which was pinned to the ribbon’s face and atop the mug for additional 3-D effect.
