Tool has straight-handle motor, cuts cold-rolled and stainless steel

Kett Tool Co. (Cincinnati) is debuting KL-2040 throatless shears, which are designed to make straight or curved cuts in cold-rolled (CR) mild or stainless steel. According to the company, the shears quickly make clean, burr-free cuts. The shears, which weigh 7 lbs., feature a 4-amp straight handle and a single-speed, electric motor that produces shearing speeds up to 2,500 rpm to cut 13-gauge CR steel and stainless up to 15-guage at 220 in. per minute with a 10-in. cutting radius.
