Kett Tools (Cincinnati) is debuting its P540 double-cut, pneumatic shears. According to the company, the tool provides double-cutting action that delivers superior maneuverability, flexibility and speed for making smooth, burr-free cuts. The shears process cold-rolled mild steel up to 14 gauge, stainless steel up to 20 gauge and aluminum up to 0.090 in. thick. The pistol-grip shears uses a 2,200-rpm, pneumatic motor that runs on a 90-psi power source, and cuts up to 180 in./minute.
Kett Tools is also offering KD-480 scissor shears, which cuts through vinyl, mesh screens and foam rubber and other pliable materials. The pistol-grip tool operates with a 2,500-rpm, variable-speed motor, and its “rabbit ear” blades slice without gouging, the company states. The shears’ heads are made from A-2, tool-steel blades, which provides prolonged durability.
