This Cincinnati watering hole, originally opened for business in 1817, got its name when a reddish chestnut (or “bay”) horse wandered into the front door. Shuttered in 2004, the iconic 1940’s-era animated-neon sign was refurbished for the cafe’s 2017 grand reopening. Photo by Jeff Russ.
