The 23-floor National Library of Belarus (Minsk, Belarus), and its distinctively illuminated, jewel-shaped structure, is actually a rhombicuboctahedron (18 squares and eight triangles) that incorporates function as well as form. This “Crazy Diamond” can seat over 2,000 readers, and is adorned with more than 4,500 LED light sources, which allow images to move across the country’s single largest advertising surface.
