Mimaki Direct-Sublimation Printer

For textile and soft signage imaging on polyester fabrics.

Mimaki is introducing its Tx500-1800DS direct-sublimation printer for textile and soft signage imaging on polyester fabrics. The company says the six-printhead machine features improved print speed (150% faster than Mimaki’s current models) and reduced operator costs (new sublimation ink Sb300 inks cost less than standard). Mimaki offers two ink configurations – a six-color (Bl,M,Y,Bk,LBl,LM) mode (for smooth gradation and more resolute pale colors) and a four-color (Bl,M,Y,Bk) mode to quicken productivity. It accepts roll media of up to 60kg and 300mm in diameter.

Mimaki’s RasterLink 6 RIP comprises color simulation, a color replacement function. Further, a degassing module allows you to use un-degassed bottled inks instead of conventional degassed ink packs and thereby reduce your ink costs. The system also eliminates ink gasses or bubbles, which lessens maintenance and improves ink-dot accuracy.
It also features Mimaki’s unique Auto Media Feeder (AMF) mechanism, to ensure stable feed and takeup; a built-in heater to speed print drying; and a mist-absorption filter that prevents ink mists and enhances print operations.
