Mimaki Introduces Silver Ink for JV33 and CJV30

Company also releases its ES3 white ink

Mimaki USA Inc. (Suwanee, GA) announced the addition of silver ink to its ES3 line of eco-solvent inks for the JV33 and CJV30 large-format printer series. By combining Mimaki’s new silver ink with its full-color, ES3 inks, you can create such metallic print effects as gold or bronze, and more.

Concurrent with the silver ink release, Mimaki will introduce and ship its ES3 white ink which, the company said, works especially well for prints on transparent and colored substrates that benefit from a white-ink under print.

To print with the silver ink, you must switch the JV33 and CJV30 printer systems to Mimaki’s ES3 ink line, update the firmware and install (or update) its Raster Link Pro5 RIP software. No additional devices or equipment are needed.

Mimaki said its Raster Link Pro5 RIP allows easy, silver-ink printing — you select the appropriate color from the software’s metallic-color library and print the job with silver ink. The RIP allows you to print all shades of metallic colors; you may also devise colors and metallic shades.

Shipment of the new inks –silver and white — is expected to commence in October 2010.
