Exterior-wall murals have enjoyed a vigorous in numerous cities nationwide. The increasing, and well deserved, reverence afforded to handpainted signage also extends indoors, where a painted wall can define its environs. Such is the case with Sonny Franks’, owner of Sign Creations (Lilburn, GA) painted walls for the 1910 Public House, a trendy Lilburn eatery. Kim Fong, an Atlanta designer, devised the program, which was inspired by A Trip to the Moon, a 1902 French silent short film.

Franks paitned the piece using a projected pattern, acrylic-latex paint and an array of brushes.
