Purina Spins a Yarn with Bus Shelter Sign

Sign promotes launch of Felix cat food in Mexico

In today’s media-saturated world, it’s important to grab would-be customers when they’re away from at least some of their electronic devices. And, a creative message more likely to wrest them away from other stimuli is even more important.

To debut its Felix brand cat good in Mexico, Purina hired Big Bang Global, a Mexico City-based agency, to promote its rollout. Big Bang incorporated the children’s yarn game cat’s cradle — yarn is, after all, one of a cat’s favorite toys — as an effective play on words by constructing a large yarn backdrop for Mexico City transit stations. A tactile ad campaign could prove successful in many formats. Imagine a rough-edged display to promote shaving products, or a big vat of nacho cheese to hawk Velveeta … OK, maybe there are limits.

Anyway, you get the idea. Click this link for the full story on the Felix campaign.
