Industry Specials

  • I would like to see a feature on ERP systems and what the industry finds useful on the market. There are some which are tailored to the industry such as Casper or KeyedIn, but most larger custom shops I know wind up having something developed to their needs. That is a chunk of change, though, that many owners are not willing to put out. What are people using? — Matt Robinson, Eastern Sign Tech, Burlington, NJ

The Giving Word

  • My new word is “Reciprocity.” If we all lived a little bit more like that… oh man, how much better we’d all be. — Cindy Gillihan, Gilly’s Super Signs, Placerville, CA

Examples to Follow

  • Loved the subcontractor article (see ST, June 2024). Would love a deeper dive and learn how signshops and sign designers approach the conversation of partnering/brokering with wholesalers and subs. Pricing is always tricky especially if you’re just getting started. — Russell Toynes, Studio Dzo, Austin, TX
  • Subcontracting and LED articles were read by the entire team here. Case studies or work examples are popular. Keep up the good work! — Jeff Thomas, Crossroad Sign, Lynwood, WA

Gauging Interests

  • Weird and strange projects are always interesting. — Carey Gray, CAT Graphics Inc., Great Falls, MT
  • I think it would be cool to see other signshop trucks and storefronts. — Dennis Schaub, FastTrack Signs, Bellefontaine, OH
