Roland DGA Corporation (Irvine, CA) has released a newly updated Roland DG VersaWorks 7 RIP software and a redesigned Roland DG Connect platform, according to a press release.

VersaWorks 7 RIP is included with all new Roland DG inkjet printers and available as a free upgrade for existing compatible models. The software offers a wide variety of color settings, including Roland’s “True Rich Color,” built-in PANTONE and Roland Color System libraries and a “Nearest Color Finder” function that automatically generates specified spot colors, as well as more intuitive navigation, 62% larger memory compared to the previous version and secure output data storage in the Roland DG Connect cloud.

“This software offers greater functionality and ease of use to better serve the diverse and individualized needs of not only print professionals, but also those who have never been involved in the print industry, such as retailers, interior decorators and educators,” Scott Burgess, Roland DGA’s software product manager, is quoted in the release.

The new Roland DG Connect features a Device Dashboard, remote monitoring, multi-user options, all-in-one access to software for managing, automating and optimizing print production, including VersaWorks 7, PrintAutoMate and Flexi Designer. The platform also offers detailed dashboards for tracking performance, analyzing costs and monitoring trends, a digital marketplace for print products and solutions, media inventory management, real-time troubleshooting and a growing library of educational content for Roland DG users.

“The expanded Roland DG Connect platform offers a multitude of added-value and growth opportunities that enable users to realize an ideal output environment, interact with others and exchange information, conduct commerce, get needed support and much more,” Burgess is quoted in the press release.
