At Saddleback College (Mission Viejo, CA), instructor Mark Podolak’s “Introduction to Vehicle Wrap Design and Application” covers designing, printing and applying large-format vinyl graphics. Podolak, a graphic designer who has worked on interior and exterior signage, attended one of Roland DGA’s “Born to Wrap” workshops to prepare.

In addition to initial exposure to the industry, Podolak said the class offers “hands-on experience that would open the door to personal projects as well as establish a sound foundation prior to seeking employment as an entry-level installer.” The class has a trio of Roland machines at its disposal: a 64-in. VersaEXPRESS RF-640 printer, a 30-in. VersaCAMM SP-300i eco-solvent printer/cutter and a GX-400 cutter. Recent projects have included a hood wrap and a trailer wrap for a local Boy Scout troop.
