When Sign Pro (Plantsville, CT) added an array of 890 solar panels to their plant’s roof, they made a commitment to the local business community as well as the environment. The panels cover 40,000 sq. ft. and generate 1,500W of power – “impressive for solar,” said owner Pete Rappoccio. So impressive, in fact, that Sign Pro returns 35% of the electricity it generates back to the grid, enough to power 1,300 typical homes, Rappoccio said. (Sign Pro also earns a non-taxable credit.)

The company’s recent unveiling event was attended by media and politicians of both parties. “We want to be a leader in the state,” said Roger Wierbicki, business development, adding that the $890,000 investment (with an 11-year ROI) demonstrates that “the company’s not going anywhere.”
