SMI Sign Systems, Inc. (Frederick, MD) was recently ranked no. 2956 on Inc. Magazine’s annual Inc. 5000 List, a ranking of the fastest-growing private companies in the United States.

Over the past 27 years, SMI Sign Systems has grown from a small, two-man signmaking shop in Rockville, MD to a custom architectural sign company that employs about 50 people and operates two manufacturing facilities in Frederick.

SMI Sign Systems designs, fabricates and installs custom interior and exterior signage and wayfinding for hospitals, schools and universities; professional office buildings; federal and state agencies; property developers; and retailers. In the past five years, the company has doubled in size, both in sales and number of employees.
