SpeedPro Affinity Solutions’ Standout Sarasota Wall-Mural

Printed and installed by SpeedPro, the mural commemorates the 100-year anniversary of Sarasota County.

Sara Skaggs Signs of the Times March 2021 Issue

SpeedPro Affinity Solutions (Sarasota, FL) recently finished a wall-mural collaboration on the Sarasota Chamber of Commerce building to celebrate the 100-year anniversary of Sarasota County. The Sarasota Chamber of Commerce and the Sarasota Arts and Cultural Alliance commissioned local artist Matt Myer for the original painting, intended to highlight the ‘Builders of Sarasota’ (right to left: Owen Burns, Lewis Colson, A.B. Edwards, Bertha Palmer, and Charles and John Ringling). Once SpeedPro received the art, it was prepared for production, and printed on 3M IJ180 vinyl using 3M’s 8510 Scotchcal Overlaminate. SpeedPro helmed the two-and-half-day installation, applying the vinyl and sealing its edges. The mural is expected to be displayed for two years.

Sara Skaggs is an editorial intern for Signs of the Times, as well as Big Picture and Screen Printing magazines, two of Signs’ sister publications, for spring 2021. Sara is currently majoring in creative writing with certificates in journalism plus copyediting and publishing at the University of Cincinnati. She plans to use her degree to work as an author and in the editing/publishing industry – hopefully moving somewhere warm.
