The U.S. Supreme Court refused to hear a Portland-based company’s case that would challenge the constitutionality of the city’s sign code, The Oregonian reported.

The court declined to hear an appeal by a G.K. Travel, a company that claimed the city restricted its First Amendment right to free speech by banning its sign pole.

Portland officials told the company to remove its pole sign back in 2001. The sign exceeded the length allowed and was removed.
