The Ringturm is already one of the most recognizable buildings in Vienna, Austria. Thanks to Plakativ (Vienna) and insurance group Wiener Städtische Versicherung AG, which is headquartered in the building, it’s also one of the city’s most visible art exhibits.

To commemorate the 250th anniversary of Mozart’s birth, Plakativ printed Don Giovanni-themed artwork by Christian Ludwig Attersee. Plakativ used its 3360 and 5300 VUTEk printers to transfer the colorful painting to 3-meter-wide strips of fire-safe PVC mesh. Plaketiv also has its own finishing department, complete with a FIAB welding machine.

The team anticipated high expectations for the project, not just from the customer, but from the artist, the government and fire department. “With that kind of project, everyone keeps an eye on you, and everything has to be perfect,” said Plakativ’s Peter Cibulka.
