The Graphix Garage Strikes Gold With Unique 3-D Sign

HDU “Diamond” Creates Striking Blade Sign

Published

on

The Graphix Garage struck gold by using myriad materials and techniques to revamp an existing sign on the side of a building. HDU board and raised HDU lettering form the primary component, and the 3-D HDU diamond is covered with Avery holographic film. A ShopBot PRT router fashioned these elements using Vectric Aspire 3.0 software. West System epoxy glue holds the 8-in.-tall, 14-in.-wide diamond slices together. Everything is decorated with Sherwin-Williams Duration exterior paint. A Graphtec FC5100-75 plotter cut the Oracal 951 premium cast vinyl. Gorilla Glue and some screws helped install the new sign faces.
