The Signage Foundation Inc. (Washington, DC) has developed a four-part whitepaper series that addresses the use of typography in signage, as well as a two-part webinar that will present the papers’ findings. Craig Berger, the chair of visual presentation and exhibit design at the Fashion Institute of Technology, authored the whitepapers, and the International Sign Assn., Nova Polymers, Dixie Graphics and Swell Media served as project sponsors.
The first webinar, which takes place at 2 p.m. on March 13, will feature the first two whitepapers, “The History of Typography and Place”, and “Environmental Typography Best Practices” Roger Whitehouse, principal of Whitehouse and Co., and Lance Wyman, Wyman and Co.’s principal – both are environmental-graphic designers — will join Berger on the webinar.
The second webinar, which takes place April 4 at 2 p.m., will feature the two subsequent whitepapers, “Typography and the Code” and “Typography Case Studies”. The typography series will be available on The Signage Foundation’s website; registration for the webinars may be done at ISA’s website, www.signs.org.
