Worldwide Puts Graphics in Play for Cincinnati Spikes

Dugout wrap helps promote youth baseball teams

Despite the soaring popularity of collegiate and professional football, baseball remains America’s game,  (the negative headlines about the surge of concussions suffered by football players are likely to increase baseball’s youth participation in the U.S.). In Cincinnati, the birthplace of professional baseball, the popularity of Abner Doubleday’s game has never waned.

The Cincinnati Spikes are a testament to the Queen City’s commitment to youth baseball. Founded in 1990 in Montgomery, a northern suburb, the Spikes comprise three teams: one for players 9 and under, another for 12 and under, and a third for 18 and under. The teams play at Prasco Park, a 550-seat stadium with amenities that would be the envy of many college programs. To help brand the facility and create atmosphere for its squads, Spikes officials contacted Worldwide Signs and Graphics proprietor Christian Beebe to create a wall graphic to adorn the home dugout.

Beebe printed the job on MACtac’s IMAGin® RoughRap™ wall-wrapping media with the shop’s HP Scitex LX850 latex-ink printer. To prevent the Spikes logo from fading, he applied a MACtac cast overlaminate with a Seal Pro 62 dual-function laminator.
