Xara (Hemel Hempstead, UK) is releasing its Xara Designer Pro X software for web and graphic design that also features improvements to Xara Online Designer. Pro X provides vector illustration, photo editing, page layout and website design, which, the company says, eliminates program switching, lower memory and computing requirements, an easier learning curve, higher productivity through the reduced workflow. The photo editor provides vector based, editable, non-destructive photo editing and popular, select-effects. In addition, the Effect Painter tool allows direct effects — brighten, dodge and burn, saturation and more — changes on photo.
The software also comprises photo grids, SmartShapes. Spiral SmartShape, flexible text handling and Xara’s Font Awesome collection of 1,500 vector- or WOFF-based symbols. Web design effects comprise parallax scrolling effects, 30 types of scrolling animation, 40 on-reveal animation types, a sticky feature, NavBars and nine website themes and 166 Business theme sets. The inclusion of Xara’s cloud-based editor and Online Designer allows web designers edit their document both offline or online and synchronize their files with Dropbox, Google GDrive and Microsoft OneDrive.
