The Outdoor Advertising Assn. (OAAA) announced the winners of its 66th annual OBIE Awards at the closing night of the Traffic Audit Bureau Out of Home Media Conference and Marketing Expo in April 2008.
The OAAA awarded two Best of Show OBIEs to BBDO New York. Judges also awarded BBDO’s HBO Voyeur Project with a Special Best of Show for Breakthrough Innovation. The Voyeur Project used projection media to create the illusion of an inside look at the lives of residents in a SoHo high-rise. The vignettes mirrored the network shows’ storylines.
Also, 17 OBIEs were awarded in individual categories.
The 2008 OBIE Hall of Fame Award went to Altoids in recognition of long-standing creative excellence in the out-of-home medium.
