3M Acquires Knifeless Tech Systems

3M Commercial Solutions (St. Paul, MN) is announcing its acquisition of Knifeless Tech Systems (Vernon, BC, Canada), which produces knifeless tape, an installation tool used to cut self-adhesive films applied to vehicle wraps. According to 3M, knifeless tape replaces cutting-knife use for film installation, and eliminate the risk of surface damage from blade scrapes and nicks. 3M offers Knifeless Accredited Installer training and testing for the material, which takes place exclusively at 3M Graphics’ training and testing facility in St. Paul, MN. Knifeless Tech Systems will be moved to 3M’s corporate facilities.

"Knifeless Tape has long been a valued product in the graphics-installation industry, and we are incredibly excited to now include the technology within our robust offering of vinyl products and installation tools," Kimberly Tostrud, 3M Commercial Solutions’ product marketer, said.
