3M Comply v3 Air-Egress Media

3M™ (St. Paul, MN) is unveiling an updated version of its Controltac IJ180C graphic film with Comply™ air-egress technology with v3 adhesive, which, according to the company, offers the air-release capabilities of its initial Comply product and the glossier finish of the v2 material. The soft, conformable, cast film lacks memory once installed, and reportedly can be stretched without lifting. When used with 3M’s Scotchcal™ 8580 gloss overlaminate, the company recommends the media for vehicle wraps and other applications with deep channels or severe curves.

3M is also introducing its IJ86E wall-decorating film that’s designed for UV inkjet or screenprinting for interior, wall-graphic applications. The 6-mil film incorporates an adhesive system that provides a strong bond, but allows graphic sliding and repositioning. During application, the company states its air-release channels permit quick, bubble-free installation.
