3M™ Commercial Graphics (St. Paul, MN) is introducing is unveiling Envision™ non-PVC wrap films. The media, which is made without chlorine or phthalates, may be applied to cars, box trucks, trailers, buses and textured walls, among other surfaces. The highly conformable, repositionable, air-release film may be installed in cold weather (with a heatsource), and is tear-, UV- and corrosion-resistant. The material may be printed with latex- and UV-cure inks, as well as certain solvent-inkjet inks. The company recommends reviewing its product bulletin to determine appropriate printers and inks.
The company is also offering Envision 8548G glossy-finish overlaminate to protect the vehicles, which, according to the company, offers the same gloss and clarity as 3M’s Scotchcal 8518 glossy overlaminate. The materials’ manufacturing process consumes 60% fewer solvents than standard films, and, when used for refurbishing projects, Envision materials reportedly help building construction and renovations obtain LEED® credits.
