3M Films Distributor Interwest Acquired by Private Equity

Interwest Distribution Company (Denver), a distributor of 3M-branded automotive and building films, has been acquired by American Pacific Group, a San Francisco-based private equity firm.

In a release, APG said Interwest will be combined with wrap supplier Fellers Inc., which was also recently acquired by the firm. Terms of both deals were not disclosed.

Founded in 1982, Interwest is a distributor of 3M films that services 22 states in the western part of the country. The company supplies paint-protection film, car wraps and window tint to automotive shops and sun control, security and decorative films to its customer base of building window installers.

Hugh Bernardi Jr., owner of Interwest, said his company has “been aware and impressed by Fellers for a long time” and looks forward to “bringing our businesses together, working closely with APG.”
