3M Multi-touch Developer Kit

3M Touch Systems Inc. (Austin, TX), a wholly owned subsidiary of 3M, is introducing the 3M Multi-touch Developer Kit, which was introduced to the touch industry at the SID Display Week 2009 Conference in San Antonio in June 2009. 3M’s multi-touch technology is designed for 10-finger independent tracking. The interactive tool enables software developers include enhanced operation-system desktops, four or more players in a gaming situation, QWERTY-kepboard typing or piano playing to an application. The multi-touch standard replaces two- to four-finger touch capabilities and pinch-and-expand gestures. Interactive applications include interactive digital signage, casino gaming, retail point of sale, food service, hospitality, self-service, industrial and healthcare.
