A Congressional candidate stresses the importance of yard signs

The following is an excerpt from a news release sent out by U. S. Congressional candidate Surya Yalamanchili on September 22, 2010. He’s a Democrat running in Ohio’s 2nd Congressional District. He probably won’t win, but if he does, I wonder what his general stance might be on the importance of signs.

YARD SIGNS MATTER!
September 22 – 43 days left until ELECTION DAY
Yard signs are in and ready to go! Now we need your help in displaying one (or two)! For most campaigns, yard signs are just a way to show how much support a candidate has in a local community. For our campaign they are a strategic marketing tool.

Our yard signs are a critical piece of the campaign because we designed them as conversation starters.
